Dante’s on the River is owned by restaurateurs Kevin and Nancy Carins. Nancy and Kevin, after many years in food service, created a restaurant in Tracy and sold it after 11 successful years.

They bought what is now Dante’s on the River in 2004. It had been empty for about 10 years. They had driven by it a few years before and thought it would be a good place for them to open a restaurant. When they sold Fabio’s, in Tracy, the little place on the American River was still available. They decided to take a look. When they walked in for the first time they saw the sign over the fireplace that said, “He who chops his own wood warms himself twice.” Nancy says that the only person she had heard that from was Kevin. The deal was done, and Dante’s on the River was created.
